12 Healthy Food Combos for Quick and Easy Meals

close-up-cooking-dinner-46239

After a hard days work, the last thing I feel like is being creative for dinner, let alone with healthy food. Which is why I came up with this list of healthy food combos for quick and easy meals. I can refer to this when I need some inspiration.

The key to this, however, is to have a well stocked fridge with all the ingredients. And the key to making this even easier is to prepare all the food on a Sunday night so that you have all the makings for the whole week and it would just be a matter of throwing it together.

Meal Combos:

1. Baked sweet potato and lentils

Simply bake a batch of whole sweet potatoes in the oven until nice and soft (roughly 50 minutes).

Here is a great recipe for lentils that will go well as a “sloppy joe” in a baked sweet potato!

2. Baked sweet potato and pulled pork

Try this pulled pork recipe. Top it with some guacamole and you’re good to go!

3. Zucchini noodles with lentils

Use the lentil stew recipe above or prepare your lentils like you would meat sauce.

4. Zucchini noodles and meatballs

Top your zucchini noodles with meatballs using this easy healthy recipe.

5. Zucchini noodles with grilled salmon

Dress your zucchini noodles with pesto or olive oil and lemon then serve with grilled salmon…yum!

6. Grilled vegetables with chicken

Grill a batch of mixed vegetables that can be eaten throughout the week and serve it either with grilled chicken breast or grilled salmon.

7. Grilled vegetables with salmon

8. Cauliflower rice with pulled pork

Use the pulled pork recipe from above or this saucier recipe.

9. Cauliflower rice with meatballs

Use the recipe for meatballs above.

10. Cauliflower rice with grilled salmon

Try this 15 minute cauliflower fried rice recipe and serve it with some salmon.

11. Leafy green salad with pulled pork

Mix together a variety of leafy greens like spinach, kale, arugula and romaine. Dress with olive oil and lemon juice and serve with pulled pork.

12. Leafy green salad with grilled salmon

You can mix and match more than what’s here and feel free to add more of your own healthy food ideas. This can easily turn into a 2 week dinner plan or a 1 week lunch and dinner plan. Download my free Weekday Meal Plan Template to get organised for your week.
